about

Thank you to everyone that helped shape this album and made it exist. I’ve been sitting on most of this music for a couple of years now, and this fall feels like as apt of a time as any to release it. My musical approach has changed a lot since starting this project, but at the time of much of its recording (the couple of years living at home after graduating college), the soundscape-and-loop-based improvisations and compositions were a main source of calmness. The respite of building these sounds in my room and basement was possibly the most consistent practice that helped mollify my anxiety. Since then, I have become grateful for the many other ways of coping I have found and learned, yet there’s a certain warmness in my heart when I listen back to these original recordings. I hear an instinctual drive to create as a way to feel better, an instinct I relied upon so heavily these past two years. All that I can hope to do with this album is provide a calm moment for you and inspire you to create some art of your own—some of love, some of beauty.
